911 - In An Emergency Situation, Find a Phone and Dial 911
In an emergency requiring the police, firefighters or other emergency personnel, find a phone and dial 911. The operator will want to know your location and the emergency. Dialing 911 will connect you with an emergency operator who can assess your situation and either send the appropriate emergency personnel to you or connect you to them. By dialing 911, you can reach the fire department, the police, or an ambulance. When you call 911, an emergency operator, called a dispatcher, will immediately send help or connect you to the person and/or emergency departments you need. For more information on the national emergency telephone system, visit this FCC website.
